After Spirits of Vengeance #5, the race is on to find out who is the host of the Spirit of Violence. The Spirits of Vengeance are looking everywhere they can and questioning everyone they can to find out who it is. The host of Vengeance, Michael Badilino, is the one to sought out Loki, who happens to be in grave danger when it comes to the Spirit of Violence. It’s revealed that because Loki knows how to stop the Spirit of Violence, that he’s in trouble. Vengeance says they can help him if he tells them how to stop the Violence. Loki declines leaving Vengeance no closer to the answer than when he started.

Johnny Blaze takes a different approach and seeks help from a dying Linda, who is spending her last moments with him. She agrees to tell him who the host is, but wants to enjoy her last moments a little more. In the wake of her death, Johnny is able to find out who the host of the Spirit of Violence is and, I have to say, it was shocking.

The Writing

I’m very impressed with how well Sabir Pirzada is able to write so many moving parts and make them flow so effortlessly. With so many different perspectives throughout the comic, it’s nice to see them all fit perfectly in. Spirits of Vengeance #6 has some really great moments like between Johnny and Linda or between Vengeance and Loki for example. I’m excited to find out what happens in Spirits of Violence #1!

The Art

The Spirits of Vengeance team features a diverse group of artists, and it’s clear how much effort goes into creating a comic like this. The level of detail in every panel enhances the intensity of the action scenes, making them hit even harder. A standout example of this is the time between Vengeance and Loki, as I think there were so many tones there, and the artists really nailed all of them.

What I really admire about the artists in Spirits of Vengeance #6 is how perfectly they captured the tone, seamlessly aligning with the story. It really helps pull the entire comic together in a way that feels cohesive and impactful.

Overall Grade – 9.1/10
