The Story
After Achilles Fairchild order the hit on the Midnight Mission, Marc has been turned upside down in his emotions. Moon Knight has been set up to look like the ringleader for Fairchild’s drug ring, so he is currently in hiding, alone with Steven and Jake. Steven and Jake say it’s time to strike back but Marc says that he’s afraid to. This is certainly unexpected but when he says he’s afraid it’ll hurt the people he cares about, it’s understandable. Steven and Jake try to talk some sense into him but a threat lingers.
Moon Knight has to get into the fighter mindset and fast, as he’s in Vermin’s territory, and he’s in immediate danger. He needs the wild dog.
Meanwhile, Fairchild is doing his best to bring down Moon Knight and is using Detective Frazier, the dirty cop to do it. While Frazier wasn’t able to coerce Dr. Stegman into testifying that Moon Knight is out of his mind, it seems a plan is in place for Fairchild and Moon Knight to finally handle this personally.
The Writing
I’d say Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #4 was the most exciting comic out of the run so far. I’ll never get tired of seeing Steven, Marc, and Jake work with each other, but to see Marc be so vulnerable and Steven and Jake try to help was very entertaining to see.
Jed MacKay kept the excitement high throughout the comic, while keeping you on the edge of your seat. There’s great action, especially from Marc. I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially after that call to Fairchild!
The Art
Devmalya Pramanik and Rachelle Rosenberg really outdid themselves with the art of Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #4! With striking colors used to contrast Moon Knight, Rosenberg really made each page hard to look away. Pramanik gave such an incredible amount of detail in the exact right places, which added even more depth to the stories. All this is tied together with Cory Petit’s excellent lettering work.
