Two-Face #2:
The King and Queen are steering toward a deadly divorce as Harvey fights to keep his evil locked inside his mind prison. Every case brings Harvey closer to just who is behind unraveling Gotham’s crime organizations. Meanwhile, Harvey’s evil side has devised a plan to escape from the prison he is trapped within inside of Harvey’s mind.

The Art:
Fabio and Ivan return to court in a great way in this issue. We get to see a softer side to Harvey as he continues to hold his “evil” at bay. I enjoy the way the duo shows mainly his undamaged side and uses the faces as a way to portray his mood.
The mind prison the duo have created is another cool way to switch from the vibe of Gotham’s dingy courtroom. The panels where we are met with a grotesque and purple Harvey walking the halls that have an almost vibrating look to them stand out heavily. This issue is colorful and it has an array of artwork that help create the mood of the story.
Hassan follows up the mood setting with his jagged letters hissing Harvey’s evil side. This issue in particular the lettering strongly dictates the mood in a great proper way.
The Writing:
Christian is setting up a strong courtroom drama building off an impressive opening issue. Harvey’s intellectual abilities are on full display as he is relying on his wits to free the King from any wrongdoing. He’s using lower-level villains from the rogue gallery as well to build a “whodunnit” tale building suspense with each mysterious case introduced.
This issue isn’t all court cases, however, because taking us inside Harvey’s mind is a brilliant decision and allows the reader to dive deeper into the inner workings and how the two sides of his personality clash.
Overall:
Two-Face #2 builds upon this mysterious story of who is out to bring Harvey and his work crashing to the ground. We see both the smart and short-tempered sides to him in this issue and begin to understand the relationship connecting the two sides of his personality. The art is incredibly vibrant and impressive capping off an intriguing second issue.
