With an all-star creative team featuring acclaimed writer Joe Kelly (Deadpool), modern art sensation Pepe Larraz (Blood Hunt, X-Men), and the iconic John Romita Jr., the series promises to deliver classic Spidey storytelling infused with bold, fresh ideas.
What to Expect from Amazing Spider-Man #1
The new series kicks off with Peter Parker navigating a rough patch: he’s jobless and struggling to find his footing. However, his woes are quickly overshadowed by a confrontation with the Rhino, who is just the beginning of a larger, more sinister plot. A major Spider-Man villain, unseen for over seven years, is orchestrating chaos behind the scenes. And what about Norman Osborn, now supposedly free of his Goblin persona?
This volume isn’t merely a reset—it’s the next chapter in Spider-Man’s journey. Writer Joe Kelly explains, “I spend a lot of time thinking about what I love about Spider-Man and his cast… I feel a drive to take bold, unexpected swings to see how Spider-Man deals with Marvel-sized curve balls. Pressure makes diamonds.”
The Artistic Vision
Pepe Larraz brings his signature dynamic style to the series, focusing on capturing Spider-Man’s movement and Peter Parker’s emotional depth. “Spider-Man comics work because we care about Peter and his world,” Larraz shares. He has even photographed New York City to ensure an authentic backdrop for Spidey’s adventures.
Complementing Larraz’s work, John Romita Jr. continues his storied tenure with Amazing Spider-Man. The combined talents of Larraz, Romita Jr., and colorist Marte Gracia promise visuals that will thrill both long-time fans and new readers.
