Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! And this week I’m going to be reviewing the 5th issue of Gargoyles Quest from Greg Weisman & Dynamite Comics!

The action intensifies between Demona & the rest of the Gargoyles as Demona continues her latest attempt to take over the world at the expense of all of humanity. Will she finally succeed, or will our heroes emerge victorious? Let’s jump into it!

Gargoyles Quest #5 by Greg Weisman (writer), Pasquale Qualano & Gerardo Gambone (artists), Giovanna La Pietra (colorist), Jeff Eckleberry (letterer) & Clayton Crain (main cover) is another great issue from the entire creative team. It is a fantastic read from start to finish. It’s action packed the whole way through and is a thrilling read.

The issue takes place on Thanksgiving evening 1997 with Goliath and his clan preparing for a little Thanksgiving feast. Broadway is preparing the turkey (via deep frying no less) while the rest of the clan relaxes.

They’re all oblivious to the prior issues events, but very quickly they learn what’s going on. And from there the issue kicks into high gear.

Greg Weisman pens an incredible story. It continues to feel like it’s taken from a new season of the show from back in the 1990s. It’s something I wouldn’t be opposed to by the way! The story kicks into high gear! the battle that takes place makes for a thrilling read that will captivate readers. The artwork is also incredible, and does an remarkable job at capturing the feel of the series perfectly.

The ending isn’t totally a surprise, this does have the feel of an episode of the series after all. And it will be very interesting to see where things go from here. As often the case with Gargoyles, it isn’t always about the short term story, this is a long term story. And it’s going to be a wild ride.

FINAL POINT: Greg Weisman has written another story that all fans of Gargoyles will enjoy. And it’s one they should read as soon as they can. It’s action packed from start to finish, and is an issue you do NOT want to miss. Because the next couple of issues are going to be action packed and incredible to read.

SCORE: 8.0 out of 10
