The fight of their lives

The fight continues with the Spider-Society and the Sinister Squadron! But now, the stakes are much higher than they realized and they have to come up with a plan fast. With the ragtag team of Spider-Heroes just barely escaping with their lives, they must defeat the evil Madame Web, or “Badame Web” as Anya refers to her.

The remaining Spider-Society seems to be no match for Badame Web as she has control of the Web of Life and Destiny. But it seems the Web is doing more damage than Badame Web realizes at it’s destroying the multiverse as a whole. Miquel, being the one who realizes this, is able to the word to Anya, who is told they have to disable the device that’s syphoning energy from the Web of Life and Destiny. But it isn’t as simple as just unplugging the device, as it’ll take someone to act as a conduit, which means someone will have to give the ultimate sacrifice.

The Writing

Spider-Society #4 does a really fabulous job at keeping you on the edge of your seat as problems after problems arise. I think the fourth installment of Spider-Society finally gives Anya the chance to be the leader and hero she was destined to be. It was great seeing her so confident in her plan while she has been somewhat down on herself for not succeeding this run.

Alex Segura really gave each character their own light that they usually wouldn’t get in the presence of Miles, Gwen, and Peter. Weapon VIII, Web-Weaver, Anya, and Spider-Punk showed their chops in Spider-Society #4 and I was very pleased to see it. Alex Segura did a great job with this run and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Spider-Society!

The Art

The artists gave us the perfect ending to this run with their inspired drawings, gorgeous colors, and perfect lettering. Scott Godlewski, Matt Milla, and Joe Caramagna put the exclamation point at the end of this run with their talent. The characters were flawless and the fight scenes were perfect for any Spider-Man fan jumping into the SpiderVerse. Hats off to them!

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this run all the way through but I think I enjoyed the fourth installment the most and it was a very satisfying ending, while giving you excitement for the future.
