The spooky season is upon everyone at Monster High. And with the recent tensions at the
school, MH students get to enjoy themselves at the Halloween Carnival. Writer Keryl Brown
Ahmed, Artist Naomi Franq, Colorist Desolina Griego, and Letter Kielamel Sibal have put
something amazing together with this Halloween Special.

The issue starts with Headmaster Frankenstein mentioning that after recent events, the students deserve a little fun at the Halloween Carnival.
It then cuts to the hallway, with
Clawdeen and Frankie talking about how Frankie still needs to get into her costume.
We then see the girls walking out of the building, where we spot Cleo in her Halloween costume.
Deuce then walks up in his Gladiator costume, and Clawdeen goes and looks at it. We then cut
to scenes from the carnival, including students walking in, bumper cars, and scarot card readings.
We then see Clawdeen, Draculaura, and Ghoulia entering into the festival, and they end up going on a ride together. We see that they head over to the Pin The Tale On The Dragon game.
Meanwhile, it cuts to Frankie and Cleo heading over to the Maze Of Frightmares, and we see
them, Deuce, and some of the others heading into it.
Just before they enter, Clawdeen, Draculaura, and Ghoulia show up to the maze as well. We
then see everyone heading into the maze. Now we see a clown trying to scare the group first,
which doesn’t end up working. And then we see everyone trying to find their way around the
maze.
It then cuts to Clawdeen and Frankie having a moment, and then Clawdeen hears 2 people
talking about her, and how she doesn’t have a great sense of fashion. We then see Draculaura
having a nightmare with her dad.
We do see that everyone meets up, and Draculaura turns into a bat to find a way out of the maze. After meeting up with Headmaster Frankenstein, we see the MH Costume Contest is being judged by Elvira, where we see Frankie win first place. The issue ends with a student going missing in the maze.
FINAL SCORE: 10
This special shows that the Monster High comics from IDW continue to be incredible. The writing and the art continues to show why this is one of IDW’s best comics of this year.
