In this second to last episode of House of the Dragon Season 2, it starts off with Rhaneyra (Emma D’Arcy) going to see who the dragon rider is. As the audience, we already know that Addam (Clinton Liberty) was chosen by Sea Smoke to ride him. Addam makes this clear to Rhaneyra. He wants to serve and assist her in whatever capacity. He purposely left his biological father, Corlys (Steven Toussaint) out of the lineage conversation. Later on in a different scene, Alyn (Abubakar Salim) says he is to be of “salt and sea” and is not interested in dragons.

Rhaneyra asks Addam to fly Sea Smoke back to Dragonstone. Rhaneyra quickly tries to figure out her plan to seek other riders. Rhaneyra orders for someone to teach Addam how to ride a dragon properly, and how to speak High Valyrian. Myssaria (Sonoya Mizuno) sends out a message to gather a group of Taragaryen  bastards or “Dragonseeds”. They are eventually gathered and set off to sail to Dragonstone. Rhaneyra ends up finding her new riders to the dragons, Ulf (Tom Bennett), and Hugh (Kieran Bew).  The dragon ends up burning up or eating the other Targaryen bastards.

Now to Harrenhal, Daemon (Matt Smith) is still having terrible hallucinations. He has one of his brother, Viserys (Paddy Considine), in a vegetative state. Viserys has his crown in his hand. He asks the question to Daemon, “Does Daemon really want it?” Viserys explains all the sacrifice he has made in his life. Daemon snaps out of it, and has a moment of reflection. Daemon then meets up with Lord Oscar Tully (Archie Barnes) who doesn’t like or trust Daemon. Lord Tully does know that there was an alliance with King Viserys and they are to join forces. Daemon ends up executing William Blackwood (Jack Parry-Jones) so that Daemon now has the Riverlords.

Now over to Team Green, Ser Larys Strong (Matthew Needham) is hearing from Lord Jasper Wylde’s (Paul Kennedy) information of a new rider for Sea Smoke. Larys said to “let it in the wind” and doesn’t revisit the issue. Meanwhile, Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carey) is rehabbing from his injuries. Trying to get him to walk, Larys ends up coming in and helping the Grandmister get Aemond back to bed. Larys informs Aegon, that he needs to work harder in order to get better.

Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) is conversing with his small council, as he hears a dragon outside. He flees to see who it is and goes to get on his dragon, Vhagar. As soon as Aemond gets close, he decides to turn around.  He sees Rhaneyra in the distance, and sees all the dragons that she has.

We briefly see Alicent (Olivia Cooke) flee to the woods, as it seems that she is taking time for herself. In the last episode, she had a cut that was tended to in this episode by the Grandmister.  As the audience, we are wondering if Alicent is reflecting on her life now and where she stands since being dismissed by the council.

Next week is the final episode, and I’m sure there will be a showdown. Will Team Black or Team Green end up on top? I also wonder if any major characters, might die in the season finale.  Come back next week, to see the House of the Dragon season conclusion.

I give this episode a 10/10.
