Be sure to read my review for Deadpool #2 here! Hope you enjoy!

Let’s Go!

The third installment of this wild Deadpool run is here! Deadpool #3 starts with Deadpool’s new nemesis getting the ultimate weapon to use against our favorite regenerating degenerate, the Muramasa Blade. As Death Grip says, it has the power to inflict true death, so that’s unfortunate for Deadpool, but what can you do?

A Family That Fights Together

Cut to right where we left off, Deadpool continuing the fight with Cross Bones with Taskmaster, Princess, and even Doug at his side. Things aren’t going in Deadpool’s favor as Cross Bones is about to fill his head full of lead when a new team member joins the fight. Ellie, Deadpool’s daughter, surprises everyone and saves her dad’s life in the nick of time. Deadpool, not wanting to subject his daughter to seeing the side of him that kills, pauses the fight for another time without further bloodshed.

Now that Ellie is involved, Death Grip is getting serious with his plans, and he still has to finish his fight with Cross Bones, Deadpool has quite a full plate!

The Art

The artwork of Deadpool #3 is sublime! The drawing and coloring of the characters is done in a really interesting way where they have a great amount of detail while contrasting the scenes they’re in. The muted backgrounds juxtaposed Deadpool and Princess’ bright red looks are something I’ll never get tired of. Another thing I really like is how Taskmaster is colored. You can practically see the shine from his metallic look in the panels.

The cover art and the variant cover art is awesome, to say the least. I love how the cover art is drawn with Crossbones. With the variant covers, I really enjoy that they’re all vastly different but still feel like a really cool Deadpool comic book cover. The artists really showed their talents with these.

The Writing

Deadpool #3 is a perfect continuation that gave you just the right amount of story to keep you locked in wanting more. Like the first two installments, gives a great emotional look at Deadpool especially when he’s dealing with his daughter. It’s nice to see him vulnerable and feeling love from Ellie. I also love to see how accepting everyone on Deadpool’s side was of Ellie, like she was just part of the team.

Cody Ziglar does such a fantastic job with Deadpool as a character. You can see that he’s having a lot of fun with this run, just as much fun as the readers are having. He gives the story and the characters a lot depth while still having the usual humor that comes with Deadpool.

Final Thoughts

I thought it was a lot of fun! I’m excited to see how the team utilizes Ellie and her abilities. I’m also very interested to see what plan Death Grip has in store for Deadpool. We’ve been so spoiled with great Deadpool content we’ve been getting and what we’re going to get in the near future. I couldn’t be more grateful as a fan!

I give this a 9 out of 10
