In this issue of Ultimate Black Panther, it is immediately noticed that T’Challa is missing, and both Shuri and Okoye are very worried where he is. Shuri lost communication with her brother in the last issue. T’Challa is with Erik Killmonger, who travel to go and meet up with Storm. It seems that they are after Moon Knight and Khonsu, who are on a mission to destroy Wakanda.
Since Okoye is queen, she tries to keep the people calm while the king is away. Shuri explains to her that it’s not good to lie to the people. Okoye believes that T’Challa is okay, and that he will return.
What I enjoy about this issue is the friendship that Shuri and Okoye have, but they do have their differences as well. I think they both care and respect T’Challa so much, that they all try to work together cohesively. I also enjoy that Erik Killmonger is trying to help T’Challa, versus in other runs of comics they are enemies. T’Challa now knows who to trust, and who will help Wakanda in the end. It’s up to him, and the team to work together to defeat Moon Knight and Khonsu.
I immensely love the art as well, the style of each panel is very unique. I especially like the scenes where there are actions. I can imagine every scene in my head, and all of the colors are brightly displayed. I also like how each of the women have distinct hairstyles, and you can tell which character you are looking at.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for T’Challa and his team, now that he has a plan as to how to protect the nation he loves. I also like T’Challa’s suit, that he quickly is able to transform into. It slides onto him very quickly, and also protects him from any harm that is coming his way.
