Justice League v Godzilla v Kong #7:

Superman lives! The Justice League has teamed with Kong and has their backs to the wall as they continue to battle the Legion of Doom and the Legion of Titans brought into Metropolis. There’s no time to mourn the loss of a fellow hero as the situation has turned bleak. The finale of this epic tale showcases our heroes in their best and most dire moments and features some serious kick-ass action from our Titans. But, the real question is, will Lois say yes to the dress?

The Art:

Wow. Just wow. This final issue has so many exhilarating panels and moments that deliver in an atomic breath kind of way. Christian, Tom, and Luis have culminated their previous work and leave no moment too small through giving us an epic panel featuring Superman and Godzilla bursting on the scene to save the day, King Kong as a lantern ring ( yes we knew this DC spoiled it a month ago but, it was still awesome!)

This issue features a rainbow of colors that hit our eyes, and Luis needs to be nominated for an award as soon as possible for the work done. I have often dreamed about seeing Batman go toe-to toe with Monsters and seeing him fight Mecha-Godzilla piloted by Lex Luthor was a feast for my youth. Kong’s big moment getting the ring was left there for the audience to soak in and was beautifully done by Christian and Tom. The art is such a strong point to this entire series I cannot speak enough about it.

The Writing:

Buccellato sticks the landing with his story. He opens by giving us the long-awaited answer as to if Lois and Clark will be getting married ( I mean, we knew they would), and it hits emotionally as he makes his triumphant return. Within the writing, he, Drew, and Tyler find ways for the heroes to communicate with Kong and Godzilla, immersing us in the story in clever ways. I found this story to be self-contained but, it has left the door open for more. Our heroes wrapped up and saved Metropolis and we see Kong and Godzilla sharing a moment as well.

Overall:

8 year old me is in heaven with this issue. The entire team deserves all of the praise as they hit every stride and every moment in this epic final issue. This may have jolted itself to one of my favorite issues of the year as we get it all. When is the animated film coming out?
