We continue to be extremely spoiled with the amazing Deadpool and Wolverine content we’re getting. I’m obsessed with the dynamic between these two. The unmatched darkness and grit of Wolverine juxtaposed with Deadpool’s violent goofiness make for an electrifying combination. Naturally, I was overjoyed when it was revealed that our beloved frenemies were once again teaming up for a new comic series.
Deadpool & Wolverine: World War III delivers precisely what fans crave in a comic featuring these iconic characters. Brimming with the expected elements—violence, witty exchanges, and poignant moments—the inaugural issue explodes onto the scene. Its relentless action from beginning to end captured my attention, making it impossible to put down.
About the comic
Right from the start, this comic book is drenched in mystery, keeping readers guessing and craving more with each turn of the page. It kicks off with Wolverine answering a distress call from a Vancouver PD inspector, only to unexpectedly encounter Deadpool. A meticulously choreographed battle ensues between our main characters and a perplexing adversary. Once the dust settles, Deadpool disappears, and the narrative dives deeper into its core. Without giving away any spoilers, I can attest that the storyline steadily escalates, leaving readers hooked until the very last page, yearning for further revelations.

The writing in Deadpool & Wolverine: World War III was fantastic. The dynamic chemistry between the main characters was palpable, and I particularly enjoyed Wolverine’s introspective monologue throughout the comic. It added a layer of vulnerability to Wolverine, allowing readers to glimpse into his thoughts and emotions. Joe Kelly really did an impeccable job on this first installment and I can’t wait to read what does with the next one.
Someone else who deserves just as much credit as Joe Kelly is Adam Kubert, the artist of the comic book. The art style impeccably suits the characters, exuding a dark and gritty vibe that enhances the story’s tone. The fight sequences are depicted with such cinematic flair that you’re basically transported into the midst of an epic movie. What captivated me most in Deadpool & Wolverine: World War III was the striking contrast of vibrant colors against the somber backgrounds, adding a visually stunning dimension to the narrative.
All In All
Like I said, we are getting so spoiled lately with all of the exciting Deadpool and Wolverine content. The first of the three comics in the Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII run was such a fun read and I really can’t wait to read the next one!
