In this 150th issue, seems things are wrapping up in Donatello’s story. Many of the comic issues beforehand, tells of the relationship between Donatello’s brothers and himself.
There is a lot of action going on in the story, especially trying to save Splinter, which seems he is in some kind of altered state.
There are a lot of things Donatello is wrestling with, especially inside himself. There are a few comic panels, where he diverts to initially what he was going to do, and then ends up doing something else.
He is off to find and look at his future self, and ends up meeting his children. This dynamic seems interesting, because he uses some type of crystals to fuel the power he needs to fight. This storyline also gives homage to some of the Japanese culture, that is throughout the story. Especially the relationship between Donatello and his mom.
LET’S TALK LAST RONIN!
What I like about this story is the theme. Donatello really wants to find himself in where he ends up in the future. It seems he does not care about altering the timeline, because deep down he knows that everything will turn out okay. Donatello underneath seems like he just wants a sense of peace among his brothers, and also in his future. One funny thing is that his future children act just like him.
I really enjoy the art, there are so many vibrant colors that make the panels pop off the page. As well as the shading of each character is very nice, and each character has a distinct either marking or object that is on them.
HAVE YOU READ RE-EVOLUTION YET?!
All of the artists that worked on this, had a collective idea to pay attention to detail. I really enjoyed this issue, and it seems that it wraps up the whole comic run. I can’t wait to see what they have next, for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I give this an 8/10
