Power Rangers are just one of those teams, that just work well together. In this first issue, we see the team facing their villain Rita. Rita is definitely giving me “Thanos” vibes, in more ways than one.
Rita meets the rangers, as she is developing a plan. The rangers are up against this woman, who is in control of the monsters. What I love about the beginning, it’s already bringing the reader into the Power Rangers world, and facing their first monster.
We are first met with the White Ranger, who in my eyes is leading the team. He already unleashes such leadership qualities, and gets his team together.
While they are in the midst of them going against this monster, something is revealed to them. They are being sucked away into a multidimensional portal. Now as someone who loves multi-dimensional stories, this intrigued me right away.
Rita again shows her true power, as she explains that she took the team to an entirely different universe. The white ranger, is familiarized by the people that are surrounding him. It becomes now a task of being on a new world, and defeating monsters at the same time. On one of the worlds, Godzilla is woken up.
Godzilla is not happy, and starts to destroy things. The Power Rangers are after him, and as expected, Godzilla is very strong, and noticeably angry.
Rita has a much more dire use for Godzilla: destroy all the multiverses and bring her army of monsters with her. It is up for the Power Rangers to stop her. It ends there, and I can’t wait to read the next issue.
I have to applaud the art, it’s beautiful and each panel is shaded very well. There are sharp details to the characters, and even Godzilla looks excellent. I love how the story comes along as well, and it moves along smoothly. This is an interesting plot, putting a team vs. so many monsters and villains at the same time.
