In the beginning of  ‘Feral’, we see two cats that are stuck in the back of the truck.  One cat in particular, named Elsie, keeps calling out for Lord. Another cat that is on the truck.

It seems that all the cats are on this truck, because they have been captured off the street. There was a terrible accident with the humans that are driving, and the entire truck flipped. All of the cats managed to get out of the truck. They have no idea exactly where they are. This story already reminds me of  “Homebound” a movie about cats and dogs getting lost.

Both Elsie and a cat named Patches, team up to figure out how to go home. All of the sudden, they are faced with a rabid raccoon. One tries to attack Elsie, but patches attacks it, and is able to lead it to the water. The raccoon tries to get out and attack once again, and the foxes end up attacking and killing it.

Suddenly, the foxes turn on the cats, and they start to run away. When everything clears, the cat named Lord was able to get out of the truck, and find Elsie. Elsie is relieved that Lord is okay.

At the end, they are looking for Patches once again, and Patches is licking their paw. It seems that Patches had gotten hurt from the raccoon, and makes way to Elsie and Patches to find their way home.

This story was interesting, because of the way that the action was presented. There must be more scary animals, that are in these woods. I’m curious to see how the cats get out of certain situations.

Each cat has a personality, and they all need to stick together in order to make it out of there.  The comic panels, are shaded beautifully and the panels really “jump” off the page. I like the style of art that is presented to the reader.

I’m hoping for all the cats to get out safely, or at least to make it back to town. It seems that they are in the middle of nowhere, and wonder what else they are going to do. Only can wait until the next issue comes out.

7.5/10
