The Story:

It’s Tony Stark in the Mark 73, Sentinel Buster vs. Feilong and the Stark Sentinels! Can Tony destroy all of the Sentinels and keep Feilong busy long enough for the Mutants to make their move against Orchis?

The Writing:

The narration by Tony throughout kept the story moving at warp speed. So much so, that when I got to the end of the issue I had to look back to make sure I didn’t miss any pages.

This quick pace did not take away from the issue as a whole, in fact it continued the trend of wanting the next issue right now! I have praised Gerry Duggan since the beginning of this run for his understanding of the character of Tony Stark.

MORE AVENGERS STORIES!

That has been reinforced over and over again throughout this series. On top of the break neck speed at which his story is traveling, the final page teases what is to come perfectly and leaves me excited to keep coming back for more!

The Art:

As I’ve said in previous issues, the art team are absolutely killing it on this series! The Stark Sentinels look imposing and dangerous.

Feilong’s War Machine Sentinel looks so cool and it stands out from the rest, keeping the scenes from becoming muddled. And finally, the Mark 73 Sentinel Buster Armor… what an absolute beast!

The scale and power of this massive armor is on full display as it destroys the, previously deadly and terrifying, Stark Sentinels with ease. This issue may have cemented the Sentinel Buster as my new favorite “Buster” armor. That is credit to the fantastic creative team behind this book!

The Verdict – 9/10

The incredibly quick pace was almost jarring, however, it did not take away from my enjoyment of the issue. On the contrary, I am impressed that a story that took me so little time to read was just as impactful as a dialogue heavy drama.

It’s action packed with fantastic narration, incredible artwork, and a great final page that sets up a big confrontation to come! Another slam dunk for the Invincible Iron Man creative team!
