Read my review of the last issue of this series.

The Story:

Tony Stark is ready to put his plan against Feilong and Orchis into motion. Everything has been leading to this moment and all of the pieces are in place. Can Tony, in his new Mark 72 armor, get the dominoes to fall just right to actually survive the coming conflict?

The Writing:

Gerry Duggan has been stretching this story, as well as the readers, to the limit. But it is in the best way possible!

Every tease, every hint, and every swerve has been beautifully executed in a way that, instead of feeling frustrated, I have felt nothing but anticipation and excitement for what is to come.

This issue, and this run as a whole, has proven that Gerry Duggan just gets this character and why he is beloved. Tony is written in a way that is believably cocky and terrified.

He is uncertain if he can succeed but I never felt like he wasn’t the smartest man in the room. On top of the way he writes my favorite character, I have to continue to heap praise on the fact that the subplots of the previous books were paid off to fantastic effect.

I cannot overstate how much I love this series and Duggan’s writing is at the forefront of reasons why.

The Art:

Well, it’s finally here! The moment I have been waiting for as a long time Iron Man fan, the Mark 72 Armor has been unveiled! Let me tell you, it was GLORIOUS!

The design of this new armor is, at the same time, familiar and original. The pencils, inks, and colors have been worked together to create something unique and wonderful.

I could gush about it for the rest of this review, but I will just say thank you. Thank you to the entire creative team for not one, but two fantastic new armors in this series so far!

Now, on top of the fantastic armor design, the rest of this book just looks great. The action set pieces, the emotion, and the final page… let me just say, my jaw was on the floor and my fist was in the air!

The Verdict: 10/10

This book is perfect, plain and simple. From the writing, to the art, to the final page that sets up an exciting ride to come, this issue is a huge win.

Please, please, if you have not read this book and you are even slightly interested in the character of Tony Stark, buy it now. Don’t let this one slip by, you’ll regret it.
