Star Wars Visions #1:

Star Wars Visions brings us an elseworlds take on tales of the Sith and Jedi. Issue 1 brings us an old Sith past his prime giving his student one final lesson in the ways of the Force.

The Art:

This issue brings us a Manga meets comic-style clash that erupts in a beautiful display of power on every panel. Star Wars was meant to be tales of Samurai and Shogun warriors, and Takashi captures the life and the essence within the pages. The red of the lightsaber standing out amongst the black and white display of the panels stands out wonderfully, and overall, there is an insane level of detail within the backdrops.

The Writing:

Once again, Star Wars has many lessons and tales within, and a tale as old as time in the Star Wars is that of a master and apprentice. Though few words are spoken, the story does not need them, and when they are spoken, they are powerful and captivating. The Ronin and his droid have one final tale to tell before passing the torch.

Overall:

This is a simple yet beautiful and tragic tale between two Sith doing one final lesson in the ways of the force. It is well drawn, and the simple yet effective use of limited words works well throughout this tale.

9/10 Overall.
