The Rundown:
We open with a gentleman having a drink at a bar who is then approached by bounty hunters who have come to collect. That is until the lights go out and a mysterious green lightsaber ignites to break up the party. Graygon Eckt is a wanted man for stealing treasure and secrets from Count Dooku and running off and as a result has a stiff bounty upon his head. Quinlan Vos rescues him and we spend this story with him squaring off against the baddest hunter in the galaxy Cad Bane!
The Art:
Nick and David tag team this issue splendidly as we get flashes of blasters meeting the green lightsaber in a classic epic dual. The excitement takes our imaginations to a galaxy far far away as the beloved fan favorite Cad Bane hits the page leading to a fantastic one-shot of him and Vos fighting on the streets. The issue is visually stunning leading to excitement and adventure on every page.
The Writing:
Moreci captures the essence and intimidation of Bane as you can hear and feel the words he is speaking every time he hits the page. One thing that stands out is the confidence and arrogance of Quinlan Vos who fans may be familiar with. The story features epic battles with that Star Wars light-heartedness we come to expect of the franchise.
Wrap-up:
This is a visually stunning masterpiece as we get to witness Jedi vs. one of the most feared Bounty Hunters in all of the Star Wars lore. Familiar names appear leading us to have our “pop” moments while introducing fun and goofy cannon fodder for the Jedi to destroy. All in all a very fun read.
