Is Ted OK? I’m not sure he ever will be. What started as someone who seemed depressed and bored in their day to day cubicle life, with an overbearing employer, has morphed into so much more. As this sci-fi insanity that also feels all too real in a twisted and terrifying way, continues… we dive into more back story in issue 5.

The Story for ‘Is Ted Ok?’ #5

Issue 5 of Is Ted Ok? begins to answer some questions as our new cat loving friend, Dr. Christina Paganini explains how the human brain and soul works with a little trip down memory lane. A trip that sounds eerily like our present. In all the bad ways. Storytime comes with some answers about Ted. Answers I did not see coming. All with a jaw dropping ending that made me clutch my pearls (if I owned any).

Art

The art continues to beautifully tell a dark and mysterious story. A story that is incredibly current to the point it almost feels meta. The dark yet soft tones, and terrified yet saddening expressions on our characters’ faces move the story forward as a range of emotions washed over me as I realized why Ted is not ok.

While I absolutely loved the visual of Dr. Christina Paganini comparing desktop icons to reality, the absolute highlight for me was the pearl clutching moment at the end. I found myself simply staring at every part of that page. The art nailed that moment perfectly.

Final Thoughts

This has been an absolute roller coaster of insane emotions. From the beginning of issue 1 to the end of 5 I haven’t been able to see anything coming. The twists are unique and unexpected, and constantly keeping me on my toes. As someone who hates tropes and gets frustrated when I predict an ending, Is Ted Ok? has been phenomenal from the start. This penultimate issue answered questions, caught the audience up, kept us on our toes, and ended with a banger to perfectly set up the finale.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Is Ted Ok? has been such a unique story. With only one issue left, I cannot wait to see how it all wraps up. If you haven’t picked this up yet, now is the perfect time to get ready for that conclusion!
