The Story:
As Madame Masque continues her mission, Iron Man must defend MODOK from A.I.M. agents in order to get the information he needs. A new Citizen V comes to Tony with a warning, leaving Tony with more questions than answers. On top of all of this Iron Man action, Tony Stark has a date with a new love interest.
The Writing:
Joshua Williamson’s writing skills are on full display in this issue. Building tension, unveiling mysteries while introducing new ones, and just the right amount of humor thrown in the mix for good measure. This issue has everything an Iron Man fan could ever want. But, the thing I want to highlight is Williamson’s handling of Madame Masque. This is an incredibly deep and flawed villain that has, for a long time, been underutilized and I am so happy to see her being used to her full potential as an Iron Man foe.

The Art:
Carmen Carnero and Nolan Woodard are starting to cement themselves as top tier Iron Man artists. This art is beautiful, plain and simple. I cannot think of a single negative, not even a small nitpick. Each character, each fight scene, and every emotion on a character’s face is done with perfection. Each time MODOK was on the page, I just could not help but to smile. That creepy, giant head, tiny limbed villain has never looked so good. Of course, this is Iron Man and you can’t have Iron Man without armor… and boy oh boy this armor is a thing of beauty!
Overall Grade: 10/10
Surprise surprise, I loved an issue of this Iron Man run. At only three issues so far this story has me so deeply invested that I cannot wait to see what happens next. This is Iron Man in all his perfectly armored glory!
