Catch up with Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes #2!

The Story

Ivy and Harley finally find the Joker in his classic hideaway and they have no idea what to expect. Walking into the factory, they realize that the Joker is already very aware that they’ve arrived. With his usual manipulation tactics, he plays on the emotions of Harley. Harley, who has been through the ringer with the hot and cold act of the Joker, must remind herself who she’s dealing with. This is the monster who’s abused her, manipulated her, and used her for his own agenda.

Ivy, who has now caught feelings for Harley, can barely stand to watch as Harley falls back into the unhinged arms of her former love. Surely Harley has learned her lesson by now! The Joker, who seems to think he’s the only one with manipulation tactics, thinks he’s won, but has he?

Erica Henderson continues the thrilling story of the love story between two powerhouses, Harley Quinn and Ivy. In this issue, we see how the Joker has been able to pull Harley back into his toxic world time and time again, but this time it’s different. Harley is able to see him in a whole new light. Henderson shows a side of Harley that Ivy and the Joker have yet to see, and it’s absolutely glorious.

The Art

Erica Henderson also handles the art with Hassan Otsmane-Elmaou handling the letters. Inside Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes #3, you’ll see the multiple emotional tones that appear throughout the story. Whether it be the disappointment of Ivy, the weary excitement of Harley, of the creepiness of the Joker, it’s all illustrated beautifully. With the letters, you can feel the ickiness of the Joker in his words, but you can also feel the admiration in Ivy’s dialogue. Otsmane-Elmaou and Henderson knock it out of the park once again.

Final Thoughts

Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes #3 shows such a huge turning point for Harley Quinn, that can’t help but be proud of her. Erica Henderson locks you into the story and makes you feel the emotions of the characters perfectly.
