A new arc kicks off as Diana must face off against Zatanna! The Season of the Witch is here as Zatanna leads an all-new Suicide Squad, intending to take down Diana.

Creative Team: Kelly Thompson (WRITER), Hayden Sherman (ART and COVER), Jordie Bellaire (COLORS and COVER), Becca Carey (LETTERS), and Derrick Chew (VARIANT COVER).
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
The Story:
Kelly begins this next arc in perhaps the most realistic and frustrating manner possible: a Senate hearing. It was far too realistic, and it is exactly what would happen in our world if Diana were real. The United States thinks it could harness everyone, and they preach Joint Warfare. Steve is under fire for doing so. Just when we think we are about to get much-needed fun and rest, the opening night for the museum turns upside down. I was not expecting Zatanna to be appearing, let alone leading the Suicide Squad! As a big Zatanna fan, this alone has me excited to see where they take her character, as she has linked herself to Diana’s magic.
The Art and Letters:
First and foremost, 2026 is the year of powerful badass women, and Hayden and Jordie give us a stunning version of Diana. The way she shows up to the opening of the museum in a black dress stuns in jaw-dropping fashion. The contrast to then switch to flashback scenes of Diana battling, covered in blood were incredible. The page that has a bunch of the panels broken up into smaller panels as she and Artemis train was done with so much detail and was easy to follow along with.
Final Thoughts:
Absolute Wonder Woman #16 kicks off an all-new arc in explosive fashion, pitting a familiar hero against Wonder Woman and potentially the duel of a lifetime.
Overall Grade: 10/10
