BATMAN/GREEN ARROW/THE QUESTION Arcadia #2: Welcome to Arcadia.

Published:

Oliver Queen is in for the fight of his life as he has been spotted at the secret facility in Greenland. What he didn’t expect was Batman working with Rotha and his crew as they built something in secret and hunted for the mysterious terrorist group Ceres. Meanwhile, The Question has gone undercover as all three converge on Arcadia!

The Story:

I cannot get enough of the character dynamics that Gabriel is delivering in this story. It is feeling more and more like an action/spy thriller with this issue and the way this story is unfolding. Batman begins very antagonistic and holds that line largely throughout this issue as Oliver Queen is captured and thrown into jail at this mystery facility in Greenland. Gabriel sucks us into this story, almost putting the reader on the side of Rotha until the twists and turns at the end, which pay off incredibly well and set up a big third issue.

The Art:

Gabriel and Romulo bring the heavy intensity with panels packed full of action and explosiveness. The color contrasts pop out as well when we see Oliver in his green suit against a vast white snowy wasteland. When we go inside the facility with the workers, there are panels where I feel the walls closing in on me and can visualize my own breath from the cold, as they were packed in tight. The way they use the space and contrast the colors sets the vibe and tone for this issue.

Final Thoughts:

Batman/Green Arrow/The Question Arcadia #2 is full of heart-pounding action and tense moments as the secrets behind what is truly going on begin to unravel. I’m a big fan of this story, and where it is headed, fans should make sure to pick this up!
