The Story

In the story of Ketema becoming king of Wakanda, things get darker and darker as the days go on with T’Challa’s missing without a trace. Kemeta needs a body of the former king to become a fully legitimate king. So, what’s an unhinged young man with a thirst for power to do? He puts his plan of dictatorship into action with the plan of finding T’Challa’s body looming over this new dystopian world. What Ketema doesn’t realize is that there’s another plan being formed behind his back. If only he knew, then we’d see just how truly unhinged the young king could become.

The Writing

Joe Quesada and Christopher Priest continue the riveting story of Ketema and T’Challa, in this new world that’s being ran by spite and villainy thanks to the new king.

What I always appreciate about the writing of Quesada and Priest is that they’re able to fit so much into the pages of one comic while having a perfect balance and flow. Marvel Knights: The World To Come #5 is no exception of that. With the narration of Ross, Ketema’s world domination, the hunt for T’Challa, and the new group of revolutionaries, the tension in the story is as thick as it is exciting. The fifth issue perfectly continues the story while adding in even more factors that raises the stakes to an all time high.

The Art

The artwork of Marvel Knights: The World To Come #5 continues with the highest quality and most creative storytelling. Thanks to Joe Quesada, Richard Isanove, Richard Starkings and Comicraft’s Tyler Smith, we get a dark and gritty look at the new world under the regime of Ketema. Each page is full of excellently detailed panels that are able to play off of muted colors. These factors together compliment each other very well, bringing panels that are full of depth and match the tone of the story perfectly.

Final Thoughts

Things are really heating up in Marvel Knights: The World To Come #5 that, by the end of the comic, I didn’t want it to end. I’ll be waiting very impatiently for the next issue to drop.
