When it comes to The New Avengers #7, it jumps right back into where issue #6 was. T’Challa ends up talking to someone and doing the unimaginable. When Tony Stark shows up and talks to T’Challa about what is going on, this Tony is a very different person. This Iron Man was called the Iron Apex, who has a totally different mask than the regular mask readers have seen on Iron Man. Iron Apex also has a more sinister way of how he goes about lurking within the city.
In this issue, there is also a conversation about “The New Avengers” and how the team is not “gelling” well. They can’t seem to get themselves together as to working as a team. I really enjoyed the interaction between Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow, and James Buchanan Barnes, a.k.a., The Winter Soldier. There seems to be a lot of flirting going on based on this one solid interaction. I really like how these characters might potentially be in a relationship later down the line.
Some of the other characters mentioned within the team, there isn’t a lot of time spent with them. I’m hoping for the next few issues, as the reader, I can get to know them. There is no shortage of action, there is a little bit of action that is going on.
As far as the art, I love how detailed each character is. I noticed that with Bucky, there was a lot of attention to detail with his metal arm. Or, how red Natasha’s hair is in this issue. The Iron Apex also has a torn mask, and it really looks amazing in the issue. Attention to detail is really important to me when it comes to visuals.
Overall Grade: 9/10
