Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week, I’m going to be reviewing the 4th issue of the mainline Star Wars series from Marvel Comics!

Princess Leia has been captured by Stormtroopers, Luke Skywalker is still hunting ancient artifacts and Han is coming back from Cloud City! What happens when they all come together? Let’s jump into it!
Star Wars #4 by Alex Segura (Writer), Phil Noto (Artist) & VC’s Clayton Cowles (Letterer) is a great issue that builds off the success of it’s previous issues, while setting up the future nicely.
The Story
Alex Segura does a great job bringing together Han, Luke & Leia. This story that feels like one of those classic stories from the original Marvel comics run (the one from 1977 – 1987). Leia is the primary focus, and she’s still dealing with the struggles of being in charge of a very young new government.
Alex does a tremendous job capturing the spirit of Princess Leia as we’ve seen her in various iterations since 1977. She does her absolute best to negotiate and play the part of the politician. When that fails, she isn’t afraid to do what she needs to do to get things done.
Seeing Han, Luke & Leia come together in the latter half of the issue was great to see. We don’t really get to see it all that much these days. And it looks like we’re going to be getting to see more of it in the next issue. And man oh man, I am excited to see what happens in that issue!
The Artwork
Phil Noto does an absolutely SPECTACULAR job with the art in this issue. I think I feel pretty safe in saying he’s firmly cemented himself as my favorite artist in all of comics right now. He does such a great job with drawing Han, Luke & Leia and they all look so lifelike! If you want a realistic style for your comics, this is the series for you!
FINAL POINT: A can’t miss story together with some of the best artwork at the comic shop, make this issue an absolute must read for Star Wars fans! Alex Segura is penning a great story that should be at the top of your pull list!
Overall Grade: 9.0/10

What is wrong with you? Alex Segura is writing the worst Star Wars comics I have ever read. Is someone paying you to give these books positive reviews?
