Godzilla VS Avengers #1: Godzilla has appeared and left behind a wake of destruction in his battle with Fin Fang Foom, The Avengers, and Jet Jaguar! Everyone has their version of what went down and it is up to Maria Hill to make sense of it all.

The Story:
We have seen a few iterations of Godzilla VS now and I like how David decided to attack this from a new angle. Having the team recount what went down and getting different versions and flashbacks was a fun twist to put on this anticipated story. There were a few fun surprises as well such as getting Luke Cage and Spider Woman. I thought that assembling this set of characters makes for a great array of powers against the god of monsters.
The Art and Letters:
I want to give Leinil his flowers as the Japanese artistic style of this cover mixed with the stoic lineup of Avengers meshes together extremely well and maybe a poster I need ASAP. Inside the pages, Georges, Karl, and Frank get to play around a lot. Fin Fang Foom comes off as such an innocent puppy the way his face is drawn as Godzilla has a showdown with him. There are fun artistic beats such as Wolverine being half-burnt the entire issue making for funny character banter as well. Godzilla stands tall and menacing in his classic look and style in this issue making it a lot of fun.
Final Thoughts:
Godzilla VS Avengers #1 is a fresh and fun take on the latest Godzilla series. This team meshes up well and their banter as they recount the events is top tier making it fun. I cannot wait to see where this heads in future issues.
