Published:

Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! And this week I’m going to be reviewing the 4th issue of Star Wars: Jedi Knights from Marvel Comics!

Jedi Masters Qui-Gon Jin & Shaak Ti are taking center stage in this issue, and they’re being sent on a mission to help solve a bank heist! And there’s some familiar faces to go along with it! So let’s jump into it!

Star Wars: Jedi Knights #4 by Marc Guggenheim (Writer), Madibek Musabekov (Artist), Luis Guerrero (Color Artist), VC’s Clayton Cowles (Letterer) & Rahzzah (Cover Artist). It’s a fun issue that doesn’t necessarily have the high stakes you might be used to, but that doesn’t take away from the issue.

The Story

The story in this issue isn’t as explosive as others at the comic shops this week. Nonetheless it’s still a fantastic one from Guggenheim!

The issue features Qui-Gon Jin & Shaak Ti getting sent to find missing Republic Credits by the InterGalactic Banking Clan. First, to make matters worse, the bank account that was stolen belonged to a Senator. Secondly, further complicating matters it’s revealed that they were holding the funds for none other than Jabba The Hutt himself!!

The best part of the issue is all the cameos we get to see from some very familiar bounty hunter faces. Jango Fett & Aurra Sing are some of those faces, and it was great to see them. This whole story really plays out like an episode from The Clone Wars, and I loved everything about it.

The Artwork

The artwork by Musabekov & Guerrero is as incredible as ever! Also it was really awesome to get to see Nar Shaddaa, which we don’t get to see all that often. The colors really popped off the page, and the characters really looked incredible.

FINAL POINT: It might not be the most explosive Star Wars comic at the shops this week, but it’s still a ton of fun. Cavan Scott’s writing, along with Madibek Musabekov & Luis Guerrero’s artwork come together for an issue that feels like an story that could have been in The Clone Wars. This is an issue any Star Wars fan can truly get into!

Overall Grade: 9.0/10
