WOLVERINE: Madripoor Knights by Marvel Comics
This comic book run takes place right after the infamous comic book, The Uncanny X-Men #268. To enjoy this current comic, you don’t need to go looking for a comic that is over 30 years old (although it never hurts to do so). If you’re not familiar with #268, the cover of issue 5 of Madripoor Knights should jog your memory. However, whether or not you’re familiar with the original story, or this one, the beginning of issue 5 catches you right up.
In issue 4 we saw Captain America and Wolverine determined to save Black Widow from the hand. Not only were they worried about their friend, they also know that Natasha’s abilities in their hands (no pun intended), could be a world of trouble. However, their attempt to save her did not go as planned.

The Story for Issue 5
This issue kicked right off…literally. Our trio is not exactly themselves, however, they’re not as easily controlled as the enemy assumed. While Black Widow and Captain America continue to punch their way out of a bad situation (while enjoying themselves a little too much), our narrator and everyone’s favorite runt, takes a different approach. Wolverine is the best at what he does even if what he does best isn’t very nice. He once again proves how true that first part is. This 5 issue story then wraps up as all Madripoor based stories should, with a little fun at the Princess Bar.
The Art
Throughout this entire story the art has been gorgeous, detailed, and a lot of fun. The cover of this issue is a perfect example of how well this 30 year old comic was honored, while still giving us a new story connected to the old one. From a panel of Wolvie growing half his skin back, to the last page of our trio all together, it was perfect X-Men art throughout.
Wolverine: Madripoor Knights #5 9.5/10
While this 5 issue story was action packed throughout, the best part was truly the relationship between these three, who could not be more different. As this issue (and overall story) wraps up, Captain America seems to struggle the most when the fighting stops. An American legend who fought Nazis and often sees things as good and bad, is learning things aren’t always so clear cut. However, that may not actually be a bad thing.
While Black Widow, Wolverine, and Captain America may not always agree, they will certainly always respect one another. They can also kick a lot of ass together, and have a great time doing it.
