The Invincible Iron Man #11 – Written by Gerry Duggan, Art by Andrea Di Vito, Colors by Bryan Valenza, Letters by vc’s Joe Caramagna, Cover by Kael Ngu
Story:
Tony Stark and Emma Frost are celebrating a Hawaiian honeymoon! Of course this is all for show, as Tony heads off to Krakoa to procure a vital resource in his secret war against Feilong and Orchis.
The Writing:
Gerry Duggan continues to craft a wonderful narrative as he sets up all of the pieces on the board. Watching Tony and Emma going through the motions a rich newly-wed couple, while neither of them are really thrilled about the stituation, keeps a great thread of humor in this, otherwise, dark storyline. Reading this version of Tony Stark, one who refuses to be beaten and remains a step ahead without his enemies realizing it has been a real treat to this long time Iron Man fan!
The Art:
Guest artist Andrea Di Vito was a welcome addition to this issue. Di Vito’s art melded great with the art team to give us some excellent cinematic panels! The colors were, once again, on point and I cannot get over the fantastic design of the Mark Nil armor!
The Verdict: 10/10
This issue is perfection! I am enjoying this series more and more with each installment. The story, writing, and artwork all came together in one phenomenal issue that I read at break neck speed and was so disappointed when over. Each month I find myself wanting more and that is the sign of a great team and a great comic!
