A new core rulebook is on the way, as well as some new adventures. New York Comic Con allowed Wizards of the Coast to share more information with fans. New pictures as well as a tease about some new content was revealed.
New Updates
Back at GenCon 2026, Wizards of the Coast announced a bunch of updates and initiatives surrounding their Wizards of the Coast property. New updates around settings and even some collaborations were revealed, but perhaps none were as anticipated as the announcement of the Star Wars/Dungeons and Dragons collaboration. New York Comic Con marked a significant shift in the public information around Star Wars and Dungeons and Dragons big collaboration. Disney/Lucasfilm held a publishing panel on October 9th, and they pulled the curtain back on some of the details about the new collaboration with Wizards of the Coast.
Sourcebooks
During the panel, it was revealed that the D&D/Star Wars collaboration will result in not one but two sourcebooks. The first thing brought up was the Core Rulebook. This appears to be a sourcebook similar to the player’s handbook for general Dungeons and Dragons. There wasn’t a lot of other information revealed about the sourcebook. This will likely be based on the 2024 edition of the handbook, but that wasn’t revealed. The hope is that we will get more information about this at Star Wars Celebration in April. The question for most fans in the TTRPG community is how this Star Wars RPG will be different than the one from Fantasy Flight Games. First published in 2012, the Fantasy Flight version is set in the Star Wars universe.
Tyro Squadron: Adventures is the second book revealed that appears to be much more similar to a D&D Starter Set. It should provide DMs with a setup on the ways to guide players through an adventure within the world of Star Wars. The limited information released indicates Tyro Squadron will see players taking the role of members of the Rebel Alliance set in the same universe as the original trilogy but it seems likely players would only interact with the original characters if the DM chooses to take it in that direction.
New Art
Among the other exciting things to come out of the panel was some new art that was shared from the upcoming collaboration.

The art showcases some encounters between the Rebels and Empire as well as some new interstellar space ship
