Indie Initiative: Ashes Over Neon #1: A Multimedia Project Worth Backing

Published:

Creators Jacob Tipton and Ethan Murphy, along with artist Gustavo Noveas, present Ashes Over Neon, an original graphic novel. It tells the story of a band of misfits who start a band to make a change in their dystopian city through the power of music. Ashes Over Neon starts with Sera Kline. In her adult years, she’s become a corporate zombie who has done everything she was supposed to in regard to living her life, but is unhappy with where it has taken her. One night after working herself to death, she stumbles into an underground music club. It’s here she meets Dante, a musician who convinces her to go on stage and perform. It’s been years since she’s been in a club and even longer since she’s been on stage. Sera gets bitten by the music bug, and there’s no turning back.

In what the creators call a cross between K-Pop Demon Hunters and Linkin Park, Ashes Over Neon aims to be an immersive multimedia experience with intentions to release a fifteen-song soundtrack and podcast to coincide with the comic and expand its lore. While a portion of this project is funded by Patreon, the creators have set up a Kickstarter to help with some of the other production costs that come along with a project as ambitious as this is.
