Disney Channel & Disney+ Announce Kingdom Hearts Anime Series

Disney Channel & Disney+ have revealed a new Anime Series.

Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts is getting turned into an anime series, and Game Creator Tetsuya Nomura & the team at Square Enix are helping to develop this new series. Now the show itself will be set in the world, but it will be a fresh, new original story. The show will also expand the world while also celebrating the characters from the franchise. 

Disney Kids & Family President, Ayo Davis, had this to say about the new series: 

“Kingdom Hearts has captivated gamers everywhere with its unique blend of adventure and imagination. There’s something really exciting about taking a world fans have spent years exploring through the games and bringing it to life in a completely new way. And with a creative team that is working closely with the legendary Tetsuya Nomura, our new series will be unmistakably ‘Kingdom Hearts,’ while giving fans a whole new way to experience the world they love.” 

Now this is just the latest series to join the Animation Slate on Disney+, with other shows including:

• Big City Greens 
• Messi And The Giants 
• Warrior Cats 
• Journey
