Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight: Villains and Vignettes is the newest anthology series set in the Minor Threats world. Now this series has an all-star creative team for all 4 issues, including:

  • Writers: Mark Waid, Scott Hepburn, Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, J.M. DeMatteis, Hannah Rose May & Dan Hernandez
  • Artists: Mike Mignola, Scott Kolins, Cary Nord, Kevin Maguire, Justin Mason & Darick Robertson
  • Colorists: Dave Stewart & Ian Herring
  • Letterer: Nate Piekos

Issue 1’s full description reads:

“Twilight City may be home to the Minor Threats, but its streets, alleys and gutters are littered with stories of deadbeat heroes, desperate villains and fallen monsters. The beloved anthology returns with brand new twisted tales from some of the biggest names in comics.

In the first issue Mark Waid (Justice League Unlimited, Kingdom Come) and Scott Kolins (Flash, Patra) tell a horrific story of superpowers, fanaticism and manosphere supplements.

Next Minor Threats co-writers Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum team up with Mike Mignola!!! (Hellboy) himself to reveal the tragic origins of the dead Kaiju many citizens of Redport call home.

Finally Minor Threats co-creator Scott Hepburn writes a story with art by Cary Nord (Conan the Barbarian) that travels back to Frankie Follis’ past to uncover the true moment Playtime was born.”

Minor Threats Co-Creator Jordan Hepburn had this to say about the new mini-series:

“This volume of Welcome to Twilight was an absolute dream come true, bringing together iconic creators who inspired the comics we write as well as some of the greatest up and coming talent who constantly make us jealous – all unleashing their twisted brains on the world of Minor Threats and populating new corners of our fantastic city. And I don’t use “dream” lightly, I’m still not sure we actually got to write a story for Mike friggin’ Mignola. If this was a prank, no one tell me.”

Meanwhile, The Exorcism At 1600 Penn & The Exorcism At Buckingham Palace Writer Hannah Rose May also said:

“Two years ago, Patton and Jordan signed a Minor Threats poster for me and invited me to come play in their world. I thought they were kidding, turns out, they weren’t. It’s been such a blast teaming up with them, reuniting with the extraordinary Justin Mason and getting to tell a story in this rich universe. Every supervillain needs a good attorney (or a slightly corrupt one), and that’s exactly what Goldstein & King are. Get ready for objections to be sustained in this all-new story, Supervillains at Law, from the world of Minor Threats.”

Justice League International Writer J.M. DeMatteis also said:

“It’s been an absolute pleasure playing in the Minor Threats sandbox and adding to the amazing universe Jordan and Patton have created. The icing on the cake has been reuniting with one of my all-time favorite collaborators, the great Kevin Maguire, for the first time in more than a decade—and launching a new (almost/kinda/sorta) superhero team. Hope everyone enjoys The Superlatives.”

Legendary Comic Creator Mark Waid also said:

“I was flattered to be asked to participate, knowing what a murderers row of talent has already played in the Minor Threats sandbox. To be paired once more with Scott Kolins was an even bigger thrill. Our story is about the Alex Jones of the MT Universe–a sleazebag selling supplements that’ll give you powers–and a very dissatisfied customer and, boy, was it fun to write.”

Comic Artist Scott Kolins also added:

“This trashy story about trashy people was all sorts of trashy fun. Damn you, Waid. Really hope we get to do it again!”

Finally, Screenwriter for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem & Spaceballs 2: The New One, Dan Hernandez, said:

“The opportunity to work in the Minor Threats universe alongside a pantheon of comic book rising superstars and all-time legends, including my friend and collaborator Darick Robertson, is beyond my wildest, nerdiest fantasies. Writing Minor Threats is like being given permission to speed on the highway, to do everything you’ve ever wanted to do as a creator no matter how crazy or reckless. All gas, no brakes.”

Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight: Villains and Vignettes #1 releases October 28th.
