House Of The Dragon: Teaser Trailer Breakdown

Published:

We are finally back in the world of House of The Dragon and I couldn’t be any happier.

The teaser trailer dropped today, and there is a lot to await the viewers. As previously explained, Prince Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) is not on the throne at the moment, and Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) is now in the King’s place. Aemond questioned his mother, Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and asked simply, “Where were you?” What I love about this show is you can see the power dynamics, and it is simple and precise. In the next moment Princess Rhanerya (Emma D’Arcy) explains that Alicent will open the gates of the Red Keep, and surrender to Rhaneyra. Her child, Jacaerys (Harry Collett) mentions to her that Alicent can’t be trusted.

We get glimpses of Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), as it shows him fighting, and those glimpses are filled with curiosity and worry at the same time. Meanwhile, Aegon is traveling with Lord Larys (Matthew Needham). Maybe that is a sign since Aegon was severely injured. He has a mentor that helps him navigate his disabilities.

Lord Coryls (Steve Touissant) is also shown, and it seems that he is engaging in a battle. It seems that it might be a real show down, and this is a chance for him to show his skills outside of the sea. Of course there are dragons, and fights that I can’t wait to see. Seeing all of these characters is really exciting, and to just land back into the world is even more exciting.

Referencing the books, they are still following some of the timelines from George R.R. Martin’s books. I am really excited to see all these battles on screen. The remaining question is, who will be on top at the end of this?

House of The Dragon premieres in June only on HBO Max.
