Stranger Things Finale – 5 Burning Questions Heading into Show’s Ending

Published:

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD for Stranger Things Season 5

We officially have just one episode left of Stranger Things! You read that right, New Year’s Eve will mark the end of this 10-year run on Netflix.

And with the fifth and final season spread out into multiple launches, the hype for the show is at an all-time high.

After watching episodes 5,6 and 7 of the fifth and final season, let’s dive into a few questions viewers might have heading into the 8th and final episode of the season and very last episode of the series.

Last Chance for Spoilers!!

1 – Is Anyone Gonna Die??

Not that we are rooting for this, but the stakes don’t feel all that high as most of the cast has come away unscathed this far in Season 5. Aside from Eight’s discussion and foreshadowing with Eleven in Episode 7 and whatever that “un-proposal” was, we really haven’t had a big scare thus far. It’s a big shift from Season 4, where we lost fan-favorite Eddie.

2 – Will Vecna Turn?

While it seems he’s fully turned to the dark side and has embraced his villainous ways, we did see a short flashback from the cave in his mind that made you feel for the show’s main villain. He was attacked by that scientist and shot before he fought back as a kid and killed him. It was one of the biggest humanizing aspects of his character development and feels like it was inserted for a very good reason. Could he have his Darth Vader moment in Episode 8?

3 – Will We Meet the Mind Flayer?

It’s a tough task visually, but will we have some kind of meeting with the villain and big bad hiding in the shadows? It would be a big miss if we don’t learn anything about this ominous presence that changed and manipulated Henry and has been possibly pulling the strings in the background.

4 – What is Eight Up To?

Like Hopper surmised, she’s absolutely up to something. Whether it’s her telling Eleven that they need to take their own lives so that their blood can’t be used in the future to make more like them or just her all-around sneaky demeanor, she’s got something up her sleeve and I hope we find out in Episode 8.

5 – Will the Finale Go the Way of Thrones?

I had to say it because it’s what everyone is thinking. There is a TON to cover with just one last episode to go and the three that were dropped on Christmas really felt like closure for the individual characters and their development, NOT for the main storyline.

The kids are a conduit for Vecna and Eleven’s story and the Abyss, but we really haven’t even begin to dig into that main story or how it could end in Episode 8.
