Catch up with Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League #3 here!
This is a review by both Matt of the weekly pop-culture podcast Hops ‘Geek’ News and Megan of the non-toxic Marvel podcast Vigilante Vibes!
The Story
Matt – The pieces are set, and all that is left to do is rob the Justice League! Of course, no plan is ever going to go as smoothly as it is meant as Wonder Woman is the head of security, causing Cheetah to sit out the heist of the century and causing a rift in the team before things even kick off. Greg lets us spend some time with various league members who are just relaxing for a change in this issue, which sets a light-hearted tone. The interactions each character continues to have with one another is still the best thing as Greg is able to craft witty dialogue allowing everyone to play off of one another and making this story fun and setting us up for a troublesome next issue!

Megan – In the exciting build up to the grand heist of robbing the Watchtower, we finally get to see the plan at play. Once their plan is in action, we get to see just how well-thought out it actually is. Cheshire and Cheetah thought of every step, except one. In what seemed to be a perfectly placed plan, they run into a snag that results in Cheetah having to sit this one out. What they didn’t account for is that Wonder Woman would be the head of security during their heist.
Greg Rucka works his magic in making this ragtag team of villains work like a well-oiled machine. Seeing each participant handle their job and showcase their talents was extremely entertaining. Even when there was an unexpecting snag in their plan, the perfect flow of work from the characters was still strong.
The Art
Matt – Nicole and Annette take us to space this issue and bring details to life inside of the famous watchtower! I love how well drawn Red Tornado is as he is their security system and then when we get to see Diana she appears to be having fun and is relaxed in comparison to her normal battle ready self. The cold steel of the watchtower lends itself as a perfect back drop allowing every heroes costumes brightly to leap from panel to panel.
Megan – Once the plan is in play, we get to see inside the Watchtower, and with that, we get to see some of DC’s biggest heroes. Nicola Scott draws each character in their legendary glory, and somehow makes it seem nonchalant as it’s business as usual for the heroes. That shows just how talented Nicola is with her artistic abilities as she’s able to make each character shine, while making them fit in with the other characters. Annette Kwok handles the colors, and has the ability to make the characters nearly pop off the page. Nicola Scott and Annette Kwok’s work compliments each other perfectly well, elevating the work of the other.
Troy Peteri is the letterer of the comic, and creates a perfect flow of dialogue that captures the intensity of the situation throughout the comic. The back and forth between Red Tornado and Wonder Woman was so well handled, you could read the words in their voices and hear the style they usually speak in.
Final Thoughts
Matt – 9/10 The heist is finally in motion, and the moment we have been waiting for is here! This series continues to be the perfect read for someone who wants to kick back and relax and spend time with some awesome characters.
Megan – 9/10. Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League #4 has the intensity of a world class heist, the planning that you’d expect to see in an espionage setting, and the excitement you want from these incredible characters. If you haven’t gotten a chance to dive into the series, there’s no better time like the present! I highly recommend it!
