Amazon’s Cyber-Sitcom gets a sendoff season to tie up some loose ends, but may leave a few things in the trash bin. Upload Season 4 is now available on Amazon Prime
Connecting Data Points
If you haven’t seen the show before, where the series excels is in the ludicrous nature of how big business has its hold on everything. Even with the blatant haves and have-nots. As capitalism and hiding in the cyber world have now bled over into having a digital consciousness for the afterlife.
This has manifested in some bizarre conglomerates that are so far from what we would consider normal that, as a first-time viewer, you are scratching your head, but by the finale, it makes sense!

Reloading
We pick up our story with Nathan having been apprehended for his DOWNLOADED body. Now this pioneer in free download tech is being used as a guinea pig, because…. Capitalism.
Speaking of which, the final season had two real A stories: Ingrid and Duplicate Nathan, and then Nora and “real” (even though he was uploaded then downloaded) Nathan. I’ll give them credit for being able to treat each Nathan as their own individual person, not having to come to grips with the obvious tropes we’ve come to know.
Now, I did say that the Nathans are the main focus in the long run, but the story is held up and moved along by the supporting cast. The humans are great, but the standout HAS to be our favorite redheaded AI!!! In all THEIR forms!

End of Service Terms
On the whole, UPLOAD Season 4 is ok. The characters are endearing, but I think that once production realized they couldn’t fully develop many storylines, they had to pick and choose what they could run with, what got run over, and what got left behind.
If you’re a fan of the show, of course, you’ll enjoy it, but this isnt going to be the series finale that lives on like Cheers or Friends.
Like I alluded to, things get tied up, but a lot is left sitting in the recycling bin. 4 episodes just weren’t enough, I feel, to fully flesh out everything coherently. Especially that last scene.
We will always have the good times of the show, and of course, the lunacy of what a future could be like. But for now, just pass the mustard.
Upload Season 4 is a 6 out of 10
