“California Dreamin’…..”
When I learned last year that I was going to San Diego Comic Con 2025, I was ecstatic. I had been talking about this for the last 5 years, and I even thought about it when I was in high school. It was the biggest stage of bringing creators, fans, and “nerd content” to the forefront.
One thing I loved is that everyone was nice, and willing to help each other. When I was in the Hall H line, I met a lovely couple who helped and talked to me and explained how Hall H works. Let’s start from the beginning though.
On the first day of SDCC:
I had arrived Wednesday night (I didn’t get preview night). Thursday morning I was up early, and just getting the lay of the land in the convention space. My first priority was to get my ADA pass, and then move on from there. I stepped on the exhibit hall, and looked and found the Image Comics, and BOOM! Studios booth. I also was able to visit the Marvel area. It’s there I saw the Fantastic Four set up and the suits in person.

My first panel on Thursday was the DC ALL IN: WHAT’S NEXT panel. I was excited because I saw Scott Snyder’s name (who has been doing great on his Absolute Batman run). Scott Snyder also talked about a crossover with Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman. Pornsak Pichetshote were there as well to talk about Absolute Green Arrow.
AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT PANEL
They also mentioned that Absolute Catwoman is coming as well. Her suit looks incredibly cool, and can’t wait to read it. The big highlight of the panel was introducing the DC KO event. It has the characters going head to head against each other. I cannot wait to read about that event. There was also mention of Absolute Aquaman that is coming in the fall. I will also be picking that up in my local comic book store.

My second panel was with Robert Kirkman. Known for his comic run of Invincible, and also he announced a new Transformers run. Robert gave an update on the Invincible animated series, and they had already finished the voice recording for season four. It was already announced that the animated series has been renewed for a new season.
MORE FORM SDCC!
Robert talked about the Invincible Vs. video game, and he is excited for everyone to play. He also talked about the continuation of his Battle Beast series coming later on in the year. He announced that Dinosaurus is being voiced by Matthew Rhys in the Invincible series. Robert also mentioned ‘Capes’ that is coming in 2026. He talked about The Walking Dead, Blood & Thunder, and Battle Pope.

TIME FOR HALL H!
On Friday, was the Gen V panel. The entire cast came out, and the creator of the show talked about where they are in terms of ‘The Boys’ universe and how they connect. The creator mentioned that this show will address “living in Homelander’s America.” It was nice to see some of the original cast, and there are some new faces that are joining Gen V.

Friday night, I sat in an 1 hour plus line for Hall H. I really wanted to see Peacemaker and also wanted to see the other things offered. My mom also was able to get into Hall H and spent the time with me looking at all the exclusive looks.
First was Coyote vs. Acme and the guy from Acme did a bit and tried to not show any of the footage. The audience did get to see some of the scenes which included John Cena. Wile E. Coyote came out as well, and I enjoyed the footage.
MORE SDCC RECAP!
The Bad Guys 2 also came, but I was outside of the panel taking a quick break. The cast came out and talked about the film, I did hear the tail end of it. Star Trek was next, and they announced Star Trek: New Worlds and a new series, Star Trek: New Fleet Academy.

Continuing in Hall H, they brought out the cast and directors of Project Hail Mary. Ryan Gosling is leading this film and it is based on a book. The author, Andy Weir also was there and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (success of the animated Spiderman Universe) are the directors. Visually, the sneak peeks we got of the film were fantastic. I was really excited to see all of it. Hall H also had a 4d look of the stars and planets that were scattered across the room.

IT’S TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT!
The last panel I attended, was the Peacemaker panel. Everyone was in attendance, except for Danielle Brooks (James Gunn mentioned that she had gotten sick.) It was a nice banter between all of them talking about Peacemaker: Season 2.
James Gunn got a standing ovation when someone mentioned how successful Superman was. There was a special look at the next season, and James said that it will explain everything that is going on as far as setting the foundation of what happens after Superman.

This last week was so jam packed with news, and so I had a blast. I really am glad that I had the opportunity to go to one of the biggest conventions in the world. I’m hoping one day in the future I am able to attend once again. Overall, I give this convention experience a 10/10.
