The Amazing Spider-Man #7
As well as Spidey has been doing in this new AMS run, things are about to get Hell…ish. After stomping the Hobgoblin and making things right with his family and his love interest, Black Cat – enter Hellgate. Who is this new villain and what does he want? only time with tell and it’s not looking good for our fave wall crawler.

The Art:
There’s something about John Romita Jr. drawing Spider-Man that just gives me the feels. And with Hellgate’s arrival, his gritty art style fits this new character the same way it did Tombstone.
Marvel really paired up his style with the right character opposite Spidey and Cat.
Hellgate is an absolute beast and Romita’s art reflects that – his power, his ferocity, it’s a beautiful site to see. An unstoppable one at that.

The Writing:
Kelly continues his strong run in ASM, something that is easier said than done, especially with the rabid Spidey fans out there. This issue is a non-stop thrill ride with Spidey taking on this new foe and really getting nowhere.
The dialogue and the inner monologue are crucial when it comes to Spider-Man because he really is the wise-cracking superhero that everyone can relate to. Kelly bends the comedy with the gravitas as well as anyone has in years.
Overall Grade: 9/10
This new run as been electric and continues that trend in ASM 7. Kelly and Romita are like Shaq and Kobe or Jordan and Pippen, they just effortlessly make it look easy and the final product is better for it. The big winners are the fans!
