Just because they could, doesn’t mean they should…make more Jurassic Park films. The franchise is looking to find its footing again after the last two films were less than stellar. In honor of what appears to be a return to their roots of pure dinosaur action, we’re ranking some of our favorite creatures from the franchise.

10. Locusts: Look, they aren’t all that terrifying, but they were just downright bad, which makes the thought of watching Jurassic World: Dominion ever again a terrifying thought.

9. Giganotosaurus: On a more serious note, this dinosaur wreaks havoc in Jurassic World: Dominion, taking down anything that stands in its path. It becomes the ultimate predator, taking down even the T Rex. I enjoyed its design and the ferociousness all things considered.

8. Brachiosaurus: Yes, this isn’t a carnivorous creature; however, fewer things left me in awe more than the first time Dr. Alan Grant removes his glasses and we see these magnificent creatures roaming the jungle.

7. Mosasaur: This behemoth rose from the ocean, taking down the Indominus Rex in epic fashion. We never got to see many sea dinosaurs in this franchise, and so it is always a delight to remember things like this existed once upon a time.

6. Indoraptor: Dr Wu may have ultimately been a bad guy, but he did bring us this speedy and brilliant dinosaur. This creature doesn’t destroy anything and everything like we are used to; however, that doesn’t make it any less fun to watch.

5. Dilophosaurus: One of the most memorable scenes in any Jurassic Park film has got to be the scene of it spitting tar-like venom into Dennis Nedry’s face before pouncing on him, turning the wonder-like film into that of pure terror in the very first film. While not 100% accurate due to filling in genetic gaps, this one is still a beauty.

4. Indominus Rex: The very first new creature when the franchise was brought back with Chris Pratt and crew, the Indominus Rex was able to blend in with its surroundings and become an absolute menace. This allowed it to outsmart the handlers thus escaping and causing mayhem across the newly opened park.

3. Velociraptor: These creatures are perhaps some of the best and most agile carnivores in the franchise. While we know in reality these dinosaurs were much smaller and most likely covered in feathers, they are terrifying creatures. Throughout the films, they work together to take down their prey, communicating and even opening doors. Some of the best scenes in these films feature these mighty creatures.

2. Spinosaurus: For all of its faults, Jurassic Park 3 featured the Spinosaurus. These massive flesh-eating dinosaurs can swim, leaving our characters with little option for escape. Boasting a massive fin on its back makes it out to be a massive shark in many ways. Better hope it swallows your satellite phone!

1. T Rex: It isn’t the most flashy dinosaur the franchise has ever given us, and it may not be the most powerful, but this is the og of the group. From creating a breathtaking and suspenseful scene going after the kids in the car, nearly throwing Vince Vaughn off a cliff, to smashing its way through downtown San Diego, this beautiful dinosaur brings nothing but incredible scenes no matter where it goes.
Jurassic World Rebirth is set to release on July 2nd in theaters, and it promises to deliver an even more terrifying genetically modified dinosaur. We cannot wait to see it. What about you? Follow Nerd Initiative for more! For more from Matt: http://linktr.ee/hopsgeeknews
