A brand-new Brazilian TTRPG Setting has launched onto Kickstarter.
A Beautiful World
Capycat Games has launched Skyfall, a new Aetherpunk RPG setting. This is described as:
“A world of wonder and tragedy — fueled by magic, machinery, and mystery.
The continent of Opath is a land forever haunted by the Skyfalls — titanic islands that plummet from the heavens like the wrath of forgotten gods, leaving devastation in their wake. The people of this fractured world speak in hushed tones of the Third Great Skyall, a prophesied cataclysm that will be the final one — and the end of all life upon the land.
Nonetheless, from these skyborne catastrophes, hope arises in the form of Aetherium: a rare and volatile mineral, pulsing with arcane power. Those brave — or desperate — enough to harvest it give rise to the wonders of Aetherpunk: a fusion of sorcery and invention, where engines hum with magic and impossible machines reshape the world.
Amid this struggle for power, alliances are forged and broken. Goddesses and Titans walk among mortals, their will, unknowable. The Shadow whispers promises of unfathomable might to those willing to trade fragments of their very soul. In the heart of it all, Opath teeters on the brink — a realm caught between glory and annihilation.”
Among all of this, there are a lot of new subclasses that will be available to use in this, including:
- Path of the Augmentation Barbarian: Those who follow the path of augmentation embrace improving their might through magical or magitech enhancements and body modifications, to become the ultimate, unstoppable force in the battlefield.
- Blustereer Fighter: More than skilled sharpshooters, Blustereers wield Bluster Weapons with such deliberate, fine-tuned precision that they can adapt to any threat through a combination of their combat prowess and engineered ingenuity.
- Tinkerer Rogue: When it comes to magitech items, Tinkerers forego academic, structured learning for a more hands-on approach. They embrace the chaos of discovery, developing new and exciting magitech combinations on-the-go, pushing the limits of what their tinkering can do.
- Blustermage Wizard: Blustermages combine their arcane capabilities with the wondrous innovations provided by magitech and the powerful precision of the Bluster Weapons, making them arcane marvels and a force to be reckoned with.
There are also going to be 4 new Playable Species, including:
- Anuri – curious frogfolk from royal swamp dynasties
- Drakelings – small metallic dragonkins dedicated to protecting the continent
- Sanguir – cursed nobles with vampiric heritage
- Urodel – small lizard’s tied to seasonal change
So Many Locations To Visit
We also learned about the locals of the world, and each one is as unique as the residents that live there:
- Kingdom of Blurgh’ta – Swamp royalty, bug riders, and strange traditions:
- This swampy expanse, riddled with marshes and rivers, is home to the anuros, whose rich and noble history make for the perfect backdrop for swashbuckling adventures with an epic and chivalrous feel. Dive deep into the mysteries of the Hungry Claws lagoon or join the forces at the Fetid Vigil to fend off the threat of the Underhulks.
- Norvak – Frozen tombs, militant orders, buried regrets:
- In the far southeast of the continent lies a cold, desolate region abandoned by the Goddesses. Separated from the rest of the continent by treacherous hills and dangerous mysteries, Norvak is not for the faint-hearted. Home to fortresses built to withstand whatever threats the Drizzle throws at them, this region is primed for monster-hunting adventures, whether you take on the beasts as a Guild or as a hired hand in one of its city’s military efforts.
- Huma Archipelago – Archipelagos of death, spirits, and redemption:
- This archipelago is home to the humani, a diverse and resilient people, who suffered through the invasion of the Sulfuric Armada, making the ultimate sacrifice to keep the people of Opath safe. Huma’s history with and connection to the Shade make it the perfect setting for stories that look into the dark to find the light.
- Mirmir Desert – Blood alchemists and walking sun temples:
- The vast desert to the north of the continent offers an abundance of adventure for daring heroes. The region is home to several nomadic settlements, traveling merchants and relic hunters. Its sands hide hundreds of ancient ruins and mysteries awaiting brave explorers, while its heavily industrialized capital, Kravokia, leads the charge in scientific explorations, the smoke from underground labs contributing to the city’s ominous atmosphere.
- Lim’Sa Confederation – Broken cities rebuilt on ambition and treasure:
- Tragedy hit Opath when the First Great Skyfall obliterated the city of Salim, bringing with it the terror of knowing everything would eventually come to an end. But from its debris, hope sprung up in the form of Aetherium, a new arcane component of unheard potential. Now Guilds roam its ruins in search of this precious material, which fuels new and wondrous inventions.
- Wam’Mawina Republic – Sea spirits and tide-scribed tattoos:
- South of the Mirmir Desert lies a land rich with farms, orchards, and forests. Wam’Mawina emerged from the blend of various cultures, landscapes, and fortunate events, the most peculiar of which are the Runic Orchards with their magic-infused fruits. The Republic is also at the forefront of Opath’s cultural scene, with many of the continent’s greatest schools of art, diplomacy and public speaking located here.
- Forah Protectorate – Seasonal politics and extraplanar elven courts:
- This magical forest is known for its abundance in Havens and Veils, pocket dimensions and interdimensional gateways, which significantly influence its cities and people, who live under the watchful eye of the Seasonal Courts. Political intrigue, fantastic fae creatures and magical adventures await those who dare step into Forah’s woods.
- Tatsumari – Sword monks and high-mountain honor:
- At the far south of the continent lies Tatsumari, separated from the rest of Opath by a massive mountain range, the Vorax Spine, which houses the few surviving giants of the continent, living in isolation, guarding their precious arcane secrets. Home to many beings that don’t mind the cold, this icy region is ripe for exploration, with each season’s change revealing new ruins, attracting adventurer guilds in search of lost knowledge and treasures.
- Tormund – Mines overrun with arcane industry:
- Tormund is, in essence, what Opath is all about: a place in ruins, melancholic and dangerous. The majestic capital was razed by the Second Great Skyfall, as soon after it collided with the ground, the massive landfall sank most of the city and the nearby villages. Adventurers seeking entry into the sundered cities, must face a hostile environment, strange creatures and the region’s undeniable tragic history.
- Thur-Thur – Dunes, prophecies and secret histories:
- Located at the center of the continent, Thur Thur is truly the heart of Opath. Key trade routes traverse this region, resulting in a constant flow of people, goods, art, and adventurers. Alberich, the region’s capital, is the stage on which the continent’s political decisions are made, and the ancient ruins that lie beneath it attract adventurer and explorers guilds looking for wealth, glory, and fame.
