Let’s see who walks away with a virtual lottery ticket in the wrestling business.

TEAMS * COACHES:

Booker T: Jasper Troy

Bubba Ray Dudley: Zena Sterling

Undertaker: Tyra Mae Steele and Shiloh Hill

POINT STANDING: Undertaker 9, BOOKER 7 Bubba 5, Mickey 3 (after 14 episodes)

Mickie James’s team was all eliminated. Bubba and Booker each have one representative left. The Undertaker is standing tall with 2 hopefuls in the finals. Beofre the trip to MSG, each superstar breaks down their plans.

LAST EPISODE’S REVIEW!

Tyra Mae Steele walks everyone through her pre-show planning. She is very excited to go. Steele mentions how this is her biggest moment (even over the Olympics). The same excitement can be said for Zena. One major difference is Zena is going into the finals with a minor knee injury. She doesn’t let that slow her down. Viewers see her talk with her mom and her “vision board”.

As for the men, Jasper Troy talks about his influences for his gear. Braun Strowman, Kevin Nash and Bray Wyatt are cited as influences. Tory has a heartfelt moment with her daughter before viewers hear his families story. This easily connects with the audience. It’s a BIG difference than Shiloh Hill’ preparation.

Hill introduces everyone to his A.I. friend, “The Beast”. It is a white-bearded A.I. robot. The segment is a very unique story which shows off a different side to Hill’s character.

BACK IN A NEW YORK GROOVE

Zena stops by “Busted Open Radio” on Sirius XM to talk the show. There’s no real shock here as Bubba Ray is a host on the show. It segways into the arrival at MSG. Tensions are high with the prize being in sight. This becomes very clear with Steele and Sterling.

The pair goes from kidding around to very serious quickly. Steele makes mention that she is going for Zena’s bad leg. It comes as a shock to Zena but honestly, it shouldn’t. This is a competition and second place doesn’t mean a contract. Later in rehearsing the match, Zena pops Steele in the mouth “on accident”. Steele doesn’t feel that way and returns with a receipt. While in a STF, Steele cranks on Zena’s bad knee. It serves as a reminder that accidents *may* happen but what goes around may come back around tenfold.

After all the talking and prep is done, doors are open. Fans are pouring in. The coaches give their final thoughts. Cameras are on and it’s time to get the finals started!

The Legends make their way to the ring. Each are greeted with loud cheers from the NYC crowd.

RING THE BELL!

Zena Sterling vs. Tyra Mae Steele

Very solid match with Steele continuously working Zena’s bad leg. Crowd was behind her being the underdog. There was plenty of fight in Zena as the match went on. They told a good story. Steele wins via STF tapout. Both are congratulated for their work post match. Zena immediately went to trainer table to ice knee.

Jasper Troy vs. Shiloh Hill

Troy comes out with a strong presence. Hill’s entrance needs more work. Not very sure what he’s trying to tell the audience with it. Hard hitting match. Both showed why they made the final two. Troy looked like he took the lead in the match. Troy gets the big W in front of family and friends. Honestly wouldn’t mind seeing this ran back at some point. Both were hyped after the match.

ANY LAST WORDS?

Shawn Michaels meets with the coaches to make the tough decision. Michaels poses why each deserves the spot.

Zena Sterling: all the coaches put her over as the most improved. They also talked how she worked hurt in the match.

Tyra Mae Steele: The coaches emphasize the Olympic background. Booker mentions lack of growth in character

Shiloh Hill: Each coach say how versatile he is. Bubba mentions how unique he is. Booker says Hill is ready is he ready right now. There is question of “politicking” for Troy.

Jasper Troy: Mickie speaks highly of his drive. Bubba mentions of how hard he takes critisim and struggles to bounce back. Booker goes hard for Troy saying how he’s ready right now.

IN THE END, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE WINNER….

Michaels awards the first LFG championship to… THE UNDERTAKER. Booker feels somewhat slighted but Taker relishes in the moment. From here, it’s on to the winners:

The women’s champion is: TYRA MAE STEELE!

The men’s champion is: JASPER TROY!

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

  • Kudos to the final 4. Nobody buckled under the pressure of the spotlight.
  • Zena showed a ton of heart working through the injury. Michaels puts her over HUGE before announcing the win to Steele.
  • It was a no brainer Booker was going to go hard for Troy. He’s his coach and invested that much time in molding his growth. The big question is can Troy handle the bad along with the good.
  • Micahels went for who is ready at this moment & made the right calls.
  • Taker deserved the LFG title. He led two superstars into the finals.
