The much-anticipated All-New Venom #5 hit shelves yesterday, revealing that Mary Jane Watson is the new host of Venom! With the mystery behind Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez’s exciting new storyline finally revealed, we can now unveil the spoiler variant cover for All-New Venom #7, set to hit stores this June!
The stunning cover, created by renowned artist David Baldeón, is a twisted homage to the iconic image of Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s wedding, based on John Romita’s classic cover from Amazing Spider-Man Annual #21. Surrounded by Dylan Brock, Paul Rabin, and other former suspects for the All-New Venom identity, Mary Jane and Venom celebrate their new bond as symbiote and host—till death do they part! Baldeón’s cover will also be available as a virgin variant.
Mary Jane has had an unpredictable life, from strutting the runway as a high-fashion model to battling supervillains as the superhero Jackpot. But nothing has been quite as shocking as this! Now that her identity has been revealed, the real mystery begins—how and why did she become All-New Venom? Ewing shared his thoughts on taking Spider-Man’s greatest love in this bold new direction, saying, “We hooked readers in with the big mystery—though with a little misdirection thrown in—but now that the cat’s out of the bag, we can really explore the unlikely dynamic between MJ and Venom. Unlike previous hosts, these two didn’t choose each other, but their odd-couple chemistry brings plenty of old-school soap opera drama.
