It’s the final stretch of the land of Bluey…not me humming the theme song as I’m writing this…

Here we go!

Episode 17: Strong potion.

Episode 17: Strong Potion – Bingo tries to enter mum’s (Chilli) and dad’s (Bandit) room but is denied, so Bluey comes to the rescue with a magical ‘potion’ for her little sister to drink. Thus, she wreaks havoc on Dad and ‘strong-arms’ him into submission. 4/5

Episode 18: Robo Bingo – for parents, the struggle is real when trying to engage in a stress-free bath/bedtime routine, so a resourceful mum (Chilli) tells her now ‘robot’ child – to brush her teeth in a creative yet methodical way, as her little one beeps and boops away. Kids will think it’s a riot with all the noises, while parents will likely implement this strategy the next time their kids don’t want to clean their choppers properly. 4/5

Episode 19: Butlers – the stick figure drawings are the primary driving force for this story, and it implies that it’s Bluey and Bingo telling this tale. The ‘dream house’ mansion that’s revealed to us is envisioned by the kiddies, and boy, do their imaginations run wild. Their protagonist is a butler showing another prospective hire a lay of the land, that’s complete with peacocks that verbally praise their doggie masters, alligator traps, bubble tea dispensers, scientists that come up with wild-eyed inventions (sequin collector), and many more imaginative features. It’s fantastical – but somehow doesn’t quite land – and is dull to watch. 2/5

Episode 20: Where’s Bingo – Bingo is playing hide-and-seek with Dad (Bandit), but he is quite literally piggybacking her around the home. He’s still ‘baffled’ and inquiring with mum (Chilli) and Bluey where her younger daughter is. They are of no help, but a mirror does the trick to reveal where she’s been ‘hiding’ all this time. It’s an adorable depiction of what real-life father-daughter bonding looks like, and it caused me to grin till my cheeks became sore. 4/5

Episode 21: Goldilocks (and the Three Bears) – sees dad telling the tale of an iconic bedtime story through a parental lens to his daughters and here, Goldilocks is a criminal while the mama bear has just **had it (up to here)**: “Look everyone, it’s hot, OK?? Wait till it’s (the porridge) cooled down… but no one was listening” says dad on behalf of this exasperated mama bear and her struggles. Relatable? 100% for parents – (IFYKYK) – and it’s what quite literally had be guffawing out-loud. Bandit is delivering another one of his signature dad-esque soliloquies, but this one episode actually lands, thanks to the comic timing and quirky tonal delivery. Always leave it to Bluey to deliver seamless inside jokes for the adults. 4/5

Episode 22: We’re presented with a split screen to observe a day in the life of Bluey and her friend Honey, who are getting ready for the day. The compare and contrast structure is very darling to behold (naturally, Honey is the prime and proper one, while Bluey is ever her rambunctious and headstrong self). But overall, it’s less verbal and more of a visual spectacle to behold – all set to cheerful music. This episode warrants a re-watch to catch all the things you’ll likely miss the first time around. 4/5

Episode 23: A compilation of episodes 17-22.

The third and final batch is complete, and my goodness, I’m a little bit melancholy that it’s all ended, especially since I’ve been enveloped in this wholesome show about laughter, love, and learning these past few days. Overall, I highly recommend this series for its digestibility – especially from a time efficiency vantage point – it can get to the heart (and the point) of each episode effectively.
