The unstoppable best bubs, Deadpool and Wolverine, don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Not only was 2024 the year of Wade and Wolvie at the box office, they also crossed comic book pages quite a few times. As we kick off 2025 they’re continuing to do just that with Deadpool/Wolverine. They truly are, Best Bubs Forever.

The Story for Issue 1
As we see something mysterious being unleased by a couple disgruntled SHIELD workers, we then cut to some classic Wade and Logan introductions. As Wade continues to dabble in a “hint of necrophilia,” Logan is claws deep in a bar fight. However, their team up seems off. Wade is on autopilot, and Logan is not sure why. As Wolverine (reluctantly) tries to bring the mouth back to the merc, and turn off his autopilot, some unexpected guests show up to the party.
The Art
I could not ask for better Deadpool and Wolverine comic book art. The art in this issue hit all the perfect marks you want a comic to have, that includes two regenerating, emotionally stunted, best bubs. While it is incredibly gruesome at times, it’s also gorgeously perfect. Complete with a lot of BLAMS, and SNIKTs.
Rating for Deadpool/Wolverine #1: 9.5/10
I have to give this issue 9.5 out of 10 cigars (rainbow unicorns also work). This debut issue of Deadpool/Wolverine just kicked off what looks to be a hell of a good time. While this issue mainly focused on Wade and Wolvie, it introduced a lot more than just their unstoppable friendship. It also threw a fun and dark twist in there, and ended with a big gasp.
Deadpool/Wolverine #1 is the perfect mesh of everything you want in a comic featuring these two. While the light side of their undeniable relationship is always fun to read and watch, you need more than just that, and this comic beautifully delivered. Mystery, humor, action, and an eyeball on a claw. What more could anyone want? SNIKT!
