The Story:
The West Coast Avengers take on a group of arms dealers led by an old enemy while Ultron continues to strike fear in all those who lay eyes on him. Meanwhile, Firestar arrives to join the team!
The Writing:
Gerry Duggan continues to masterfully craft this story. The pacing of this story that is unfolding is perfection. Each character is unique and interesting with distinct voices. Spider-Woman’s inner monologue and the interactions between the teammates really were a highlight. On top of the pacing and characters, this issue is just funny. There is great humor on display, that is not something that all writers can pull off.
The Art:
The art team is firing on all cylinders here. The characters design and action are all excellent. Also, the emotion and facial expressions jump off the page complimenting the writing perfectly. The most impressive feat is the ability to give Ultron, an expressionless robot, clear expressions throughout. On top of the rest of the book, the cover is gorgeous!
The Verdict: 10/10
Once again this book is perfection. The entire creative team works so well together to craft a fun narrative with beautiful artwork. This is my favorited book right now hands down. With only two issues out, it’s still a great time to jump on, you don’t want to miss out. Especially with the tease of what’s to come at the end of this issue.
