The Story:

Tony’s war with Orchis is over! It’s time for questions to be answered. What will happen between Tony and Emma Frost? What happened to Feilong? What’s next for Iron Man and War Machine?

The Writing:

Gerry Duggan wraps up his time on Iron Man in this issue and I am so sad to see him go. Throughout this entire run, Duggan has showed a deep love and understanding of the character and his motivations, he gets what makes Tony Stark tick. This issue brings his story to a very fulfilling conclusion. All of the loose ends were satisfyingly tied up and we were left with a tease of what is to come. On top of the wonderful wrap up, we get a great bit of action with a classic Iron Man villain in Crimson Dynamo.

The Art:

Another solid showing on this title by the art team. The short action scene was beautifully destructive and a lot of fun. The final page of Iron Man and War Machine flying into action was a fantastic cap on this fantastic run. I also can’t finish this review without mentioning the incredible covers for this series. Kael Ngu finished this run with a wonderful, minimalistic cover that is a beautiful work of art.

The Verdict: 9.5/10

This was a great end to a great run that I am sad to see come to an end. As I have said from the beginning, if you are even a passing fan of Iron Man and his world, read this series. You will not be disappointed!
