Wolverine by Marvel Comics

This run of Wolverine has been going on for a few years now, however, this is part 6 of The Sabretooth War, and a perfect time to jump in!

Issue 41 started a whole new story featuring Logan’s most annoying enemy: Victor Creed AKA Sabretooth. As the Sabretooth War continues, Logan has already lost so many, including his son, Akihiro, while his daughter, Laura, has been kidnapped. The last issue ended with what appeared to be a berserker raged filled Wolverine ready to thrown down. However, that wasn’t what we were left with at all.

If you’re not caught up, and want to jump in now, there’s always a great synopsis early on in the comic to bring everyone up to speed.

Check out the review for Issue 45.

The Story for Issue 46

This comic kicks off right where the last issue ended. Wolverine is hallucinating and not getting the revenge he was seeking, but instead, has unintentionally become Sabretooth’s sidekick. Something Sabretooth seems to be truly enjoying, and not in an (entirely) evil way, but more in a nostalgic way. While Sabretooth will never admit this, Quentin (who is but a psychic head reaching out to the exiles) sees it, and uses it to his advantage. Meanwhile Laura, who has been kidnapped, is trying to take matters into her own hands, while Wolverine is once again left to feel nothing but guilt.

The Art

This comic continues to be both beautiful and gory. While each issue has had that classic Wolverine art style with details, beauty, and violence, this issue got a little more beautiful when Sabretooth and Wolverine went deep into the ocean and beyond.

Wolverine #46 Rating:  9/10

This Wolverine run has consistently had action then comedy, mixed with surprises and amazing art, all while maintaining the Logan so many of us know and love. Whether Wolvie is having a beer with a friend, going full on berserker, or being mind controlled once again… he has stayed true to his character for 46 issues and counting. Throughout the Sabretooth War, Sabretooth has consistently had the upper hand, but one can only be so lucky for so long, and I look forward to seeing how this war wraps up, as the Sabretooth War continues. SNIKT!
